Light and shimmery in body with a rich, saturating mouthfeel. The cup has a roasted vanilla character with a latent fruity sweetness that rises late like an aromatic apparition.

Harvested and produced April 28, 2023 by Mr. Chen Dunlong in Wuyi Mountain, Fujian, China. It was three times roasted, with the final roasting on September 20, 2023. It’s a one bud, three leaf pick of the Rou Gui cultivar growing at approximately 1,600 feet.

Ingredients:Β oolong tea

Steeping Instructions

4 grams | 10-12 oz water | 212Β°F | Steep 3-4 min.Β 

To get the latent sweetness, it is crucial to use boiling water. This will also bring out a more intense mouthfeel, which Rou Gui is known for.

Traditional Steeping: Use 8 grams of tea in a 150ml gaiwan with boiling water.

  • 10 second rinse - Discard

  • 1st Steep – 10 seconds
  • 2nd Steep – 10 seconds
  • 3rd Steep – 40 seconds
  • 4th Steep – 90 seconds
  • 5th Steep – 3 minutes
  • 6th Steep – 6 minutes
